Did You Miss Avoca's "2019 Trolley Tour"?

Read On . . .

Looking for something to do with family this weekend? Did you miss the Trolley Tour during Avoca's 150th celebration? The Newtown-Avoca Historical Society has created a booklet that follows that tour and includes pictures of then and now. You can follow the whole route or do a section. The booklets are available in a box on the top step of the courthouse which is where the tour starts. There is no charge, but donations can be made to the Newtown-Avoca Historical Society. So take a drive, a bike ride, or a walk and see and learn some history of old buildings in Avoca.

After serious deliberation, the Historical Society has decided to postpone the wedding dress display that was being scheduled for this summer to the Summer of 2021. We had already started contacting people for the loan of their dresses 50 years old or older. We appreciate those of you who had agreed to loan your dresses for this display, and we hope you will still consider their loan in 2021. We appreciate your understanding!

Programs to Look Forward to . . .

SPECIAL NOTE:  NO programs are being scheduled until further notice.  We appreciate your understanding.

BE WATCHING FOR:  Photo presentation with Mary Pearson & Barbara Butcher showing some of the photos from the St. Mary's Church January trip to Ghana in West Africa.

PLANS ARE BEING MADE to have another exhibit of wedding dresses from community members.  We ask that the dresses be fifty years old or older.  Contact the Museum if you have one that could be displayed that was not in our 2017 Show.  (This exhibit has been postponed to the Summer of 2021.)
